15-year-old beats Venus Williams to make Wimbledon history

Cori Gauff is the name on all tennis fans lips at the moment after she beat former Wimbledon Champion Venus Williams. Gauff from America is the youngest player to qualify for Wimbledon in the Open era. She managed to keep clam and her nerves at bay when she faced her first opponent and one of her tennis idols, Venus Williams. Cori beat Williams 6-4 6-4 on court one.

It was the “first time I have ever cried after winning a match” and “didn’t really know how to feel”, Gauff said.
