Tottenham’s star players join Twitch Streamer Ninja for battle

Fortnite, the wildly popular online survival shooter, has attracted a slew of celebrity attention following the highly successful collaboration between international hip-hop superstar Drake, and Ninja, Twitch’s biggest streamer.

Last night, Ninja managed to score three new celebrity teammates to join him live on Twitch for battle – they were none other than Tottenham Hotspur’s striker Harry Kane, midfielder Dele Alli, and defender Kieran Trippier. As Ninja’s viewerbase is primarily American, the Tottenham trio may not have been immediately familiar, though the gameplay stream topped out at over 150 000 live viewers – the equivalent of nearly two packed Wembley Stadiums.

Fortnite is easily the most popular game in the world currently, and seems to have attracted the attention of pro footballers – with action from the game even spilling out onto the football pitch, as seen by Dele Alli’s Watford goal celebration, which is based on a celebratory dance found in the game:

Alli is certainly not alone, as many other pro footballers have been seen performing similar dances found in the game. The 22-year-old has even started his own Twitch channel, obviously inspired by Ninja’s success on the live streaming video platform.

Which soccer superstar will be next to show off their moves on the field (and Twitch)?
